Just North of Lake Isabella, best known for rafting, camping and hiking sits Kern River Brewing Company, Kernville, CA’s first brewpub. A brewery started five years ago by Eric and Rebecca Giddens and Brewmaster Kyle Smith. Recently at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, the team took home a gold medal for their Citra Double IPA beer (Imperial IPA category). Los Angelenos, if you don’t want to drive 165 miles north, here is your chance to try some of Kern River Brewing Company’s brews and meet the team behind the fermenters. Just remember, it’s not going to look as pretty here in the concrete jungle.
