Verdugo Bar celebrated it’s 3rd anniversary in style this weekend by throwing their annual Oktoberfest, an anchor event for LA Beer Week. Guest writer and Certified Cicerone Jace Milstead was there pouring up some Firestone Walker brews and was so kind to fill us in on the fun!

This past Saturday, Dames and Dudes dutifully donned their dirndls and leiderhosen, spun the dreidle and danced and drank. Okay, there were no dreidles, but all else remains true as hundreds of dutiful drunks descended onto Glassel park for Verdugo’s 3rd Anuual Oktoberfest.

Featuring a slew of German breweries, including Weihenstephan, Spaten and Paulaner, alongside California craft brewers Firestone, Mission and Eagle Rock, revelers plunked down $25 for 4 full beers and an unlimited amount of traditional Oktoberfest games (58% more fun than reindeer games!).

The competition was hot, as participants fought off alcohol-induced dementia with beer trivia, their gag reflex with boot drinking relays, and rotator cuff injuries with stein holding. Though many will find their memories a bit cloudy, most agree this event was unforgettable. Only 51 weeks until the 4th Annual. Get your tailor started on your fitted German garb. Prost!
