Mohawk Bend Set to Open — Focused on California Craft Beer and Sustainable Good Eats

We’ve been following the progress of Echo Park’s Mohawk Bend restaurant and bar for a while now and they are finally ready to open their doors sometime next week. We had a chance to preview this former historic theater space with Owner Tony Yanow, the entire restaurant staff and a room full of press. Here is a sneak peak of the finished restaurant. We Ate the (Unofficial) World’s Largest Enchilada in San Antonio, TX [VIDEO]

Last Saturday, as part of the Fiesta 2011 celebration, over 200 volunteers put together a 300 foot long enchilada at Milam Park in downtown San Antonio. Unfortunately, we were told it did not officially qualify because the enchilada was not made from one long tortilla. The current official record is still 230 feet and made in Mexico. It took me about one minute and 45 seconds to walk from one end to the other but I sped up the video for y’all! Check it out! More >
