CANFEST 2011: Third Annual Canned Beer Festival in Reno

CANFEST is making its way back to Reno on November 12. Canned beer continues to shed it’s inferior reputation, partly due to events like CANFEST, which was the first international canned beer festival. They attribute the interest because beer drinkers “realize that cans offer superior protection from sunlight and oxygen infiltration.” According to the craftcans.com database, over 130 craft breweries can at least one of their beers. First Annual Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival Takes You on a Culinary Journey

The debut of the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival starts Thursday, October 13 and will finish up on Sunday, October 16. The festival kicks off at the Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE with stars from the entertainment and culinary scenes. 30 of the nations chefs and wine from 200 international wineries will be showcased alongside notable breweries and distilleries with a performance from “The Canyons” plus DJ Randy Jackson (yes, that Randy Jackson). 19 California craft breweries brought over their beers to the Los Angeles Zoo for a night of “Brew at the Zoo.” Visitors gallivanted throughout the zoo, spotting seal lions, gorillas and Asian elephants along the way.
