Crazed cupcake fans packed the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel for the Fourth Annual Cupcake Challenge on Saturday. The event, hosted by Drink:Eat:Play, featured Los Angeles’ best mini-cupcakes from 20 different bakeries. The 650 guests were able to sample cupcakes from the bakeries and vote for Best Traditional, Best Original and Best Overall Cupcake. Attendees packed the banquet hall with their cupcake caddies, Tupperware and/or to-go boxes to store their mini-cupcakes. More >

It’s funny to watch people eat beer floats. On Sunday Food GPS hosted Beer Float Showdown II at Verdugo Bar. There were many great floats, but only one could win! The winner was Boneyard Bistro of Studio city, with their concoction made with Floris Apple beer and Bourbon-salted caramel and cinnamon ice cream from Drunken Udder garnished with green apple and caramel crumble. The 2010 LA Greek Fest was held at the Saint Sophia Cathedral and featured traditional Greek dancing, music and mouth-watering desserts and tasty foods. We enjoyed dolmathes (grape leaves stuffed with rice and meat), moussaka (a lasagna like dish with layered ground beef and eggplant) and loukomathes (Greek doughnuts covered in honey and cinnamon) were the perfect sweet treat. The Munchie Machine food truck rolled out today in front of Bigfoot Lodge West. We did not know what to imagine, we never do. It’s similar to the beginning of a relationship. I try not to expect anything or I’ll end up having my heart shattered into pieces. Which means I’ll probably be crying in the shower with all my clothes on.
