In the age where we can gamificate with apps like Foursquare and Untappd, we forget about the tangibles. So, the team over at the Surly Goat, a craft beer bar in West Hollywood, is going old school offering their customers a stamp-able booklet. Its an award system where patrons can collect stamps and ultimately become a Surly Goat VIP and gain perks. We have Surly Goat Manager, Andrew Kelley, on video explaining how you can get your very own “United Nations of Craft Beer Drinkers” passport.

Booklet of Fun

The passport includes logos of all the breweries offered at the Surly Goat. Each time a patron buys a beer brewed from that brewery, they’ll receive a stamp. When the entire booklet is stamped, they’ll become a Surly Goat VIP with perks only the Surly Goat staff can give you details on. These passports have been around for three months for regulars of the bar and Manager Andrew Kelley wants more people on board. He tells us, “People are hearing about it; noticing it. People see other people pull it out at the bar and they would ask ‘Oh, what’s that?’”
