Sugar Girl Cookies are a Naughty and Nice Dessert
Milk and cookies are for kids and Santa Claus. On Tuesday night, we met the stunning Melissa Tittl at 55 Degree Wine where her Sugar Girl Cookies were paired with different wines. Melissa dishes on her desserts, her pin-up girl image and serving Brad Pitt! Yep, her cookies have been on the set of Brad’s new movie “Moneyball.”
All Natural, Baby!
You can taste the difference between Sugar Girl Cookies and mass produced cookie dough at the supermarket. Sugar Girl Cookies are made with natural, wholesome ingredients in Melissa Tittl’s Pasadena kitchen. Don’t even think about preservatives. Melissa doesn’t use ‘em. She tells us when someone places an order, the cookies will be fresh and baked within one or two days. I’ve had cookie dough sitting in my fridge for a month and it doesn’t come close to the rich, flavorful goodness that is Sugar Girl Cookies.
Melissa’s very own baked goods are featured on her baked goods. The cookies are wrapped in plastic and topped off with a sexy photo of Melissa posing in a bra. Hey, sex sells! When she’s not baking, Melissa works as a model and television producer. Even though she poses in next to nothing and has a bangin’ body, Melissa says she does indulge and eats her own cookies. Believe it!
The Sweet Selection
The lemon bars are definitely my favorite. They are tart, yet still sweet and gooey with a light crust. Melissa says the recipe is her grandma’s and she uses lemons from her backyard! The chocolate caramel cookie is a unique take on the classic chocolate chip cookie. Melissa uses sea salt to “make the flavors pop” — and it works. The salt also makes the cookies glisten in the light like they are sparkled with fairy dust. The cookie is sweet and salty like a chocolate covered pretzel. Melissa also likes macaroons and butter cookies so she created a coconut cookie. It’s a soft, butter cookie filled with coconut and coated with sugar and sea salt. “It’s rich with butter-coconut craziness!” she explains.
Parings by 55 Degree Wine
The lemon bar was paired with the La Croisade Reserve Chardonnay-Viognier — Buttery and fresh lemon flavors play well with the crisp Viognier and buttery Chardonnay undertones. The chocolate caramel cookie was paired with the Fatascia Nero d’Avola — The salty, chocolaty and caramel flavors will be accented by flavors of dark cherries and a slight peppery finish. 55 Degree Wine Manager Stephanie Jensen says chocolate and red wines go very well together. Last but not least, the coconut cookie was paired with the Puianello “Le Gemme” Malvasia Dolce — The buttery, salty and coconut flavors are perfectly sweetened by the flowery and sweet bubbles of the Malvasia.
Get ‘Em While They’re Hot!
The cookies already have a Hollywood connection! Brad Pitt and the cast and crew of “Moneyball” have nibbled on Sugar Girl Cookies. Last week, Melissa baked batches of her cookies for craft services on the set. Sugar Girl Cookies are also available online and on the Munchie Machine food truck’s menu.
