It’s the hottest food event in L.A. this week — Savor Los Angeles offers food pairings from some of the city’s best restaurants, eco-friendly cocktails, craft beer, ice cream and more. Parallel Lines Co-Founder Mike Cruz lets us in on all the yummy details.

Drinking and Eating, a Match Made in Heaven

Malo, Mas Malo, Starry Kitchen, Reservoir, The Farm of Beverly Hills and The Oaks Gourmet are a few of the restaurants involved. Mike says, “Our focus centered on those that share our similar ideas in creative-based endeavors, good presentation, fun, in addition to a commitment to things that are good for us (i.e. quality ingredients) and the environment (i.e. organic and sustainable practices).”

Besides the food, there are also cocktails from VeeV Acai Spirit, DRY Soda and beer from Duvel. We were surprised to see Belgium craft beer at a food and drink event. Mike explains, “Duvel is a great beer with a history of using quality ingredients. Not to mention it tastes good too, so we approached them to be involved in our event.”

Savor Los Angeles will offer vegetarian options but Mike informed us that much of the food samplings will contain meat or seafood. He says the vegetarian options include potatoes from Bangers & Smashed, Auntie Früf’s Ravioli Fritti di Cioccolato, brownies from The Farm of Beverly Hills and Fava Bean & Feta Crostini from Reservoir.

Charitable Too

Savor Los Angeles also benefits CoachArt, a non profit with a mission to improve the quality of life for children and adolescents with chronic and life-threatening illnesses by providing free, personal lessons in the arts
and athletics.
