Orange County’s The Bruery took home three medals at this year’s Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO. It’s no small feat as they competed against over 500 breweries from across the United States. Now, you’ll have a chance to meet the mastermind, Patrick Rue, during LA Beer Week at Beer Belly in Koreatown.

Beer Belly’s Co-owner Jimmy is a Fan

Beer Belly’s Jimmy Han tells us The Bruery is one of his favorite breweries, “I like their style. They do things really creatively. I like the fact a lot of them are high alcohol content.” He recalls buying his favorite beer around winter time, The Breuery’s 3 French Hens, a Belgian Strong Dark Ale. “I went to my local Whole Foods market and I cleaned them out. Actually I felt so guilty I left one bottle.”

In addition, Jimmy added, “I think Patrick is really smart, he’s personable, when you meet him he’s always smiling and laughing. I think he’s gifted and talented not only as a brewer but also as a business man.”

Faster, Bigger, Better, Bolder (Gradually, Quietly, Steadily)

If you’re not making Far Bar’s, in Little Tokyo, debut collaboration beer release event from The Bruery and Deleware’s Dogfish Head Brewery on Tuesday, here is another chance. The Faster, Bigger, Better, Bolder (Gradually, Quietly, Steadily) brew will be available in bottles for Beer Belly’s Meet The Brewer: The Bruery, along with a roster of beers from Patrick on Wednesday, October 12. Jimmy is looking forward to it, “I love the ingredients, kumquats, two types of sesame seeds, Japanese spicy red pepper, I think it’s ingenious and I can’t wait to try it.”
