West Hollywood and Studio City’s long time establishment opens up it’s third full-service location. Hugo’s, a local fixture that has catered to the likes of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas for the past 30 years, is well known for their breakfasts. Hugo’s Pasta Mama, originally designed as a breakfast item featuring pasta, eggs and Italian seasonings, has been featured on Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” Now they’ve gone into their third endeavor and stationed themselves in Agoura Hills.

Stealthy Healthy Menu

Originally a butcher shop, Hugo’s has evolved dramatically from their beginnings. From veal to vegan and burgers to mung beans, every choice is centered around their concept of “Stealthy Healthy.” Co-owner, Tom Kaplan, says “The idea behind Hugo’s is to introduce a lot more people to health food without them even knowing or thinking about it.” Examples include mustard and ketchup being gluten-free as well as most of the menu. Special attention is also given to food allergies and to creating vegan alternatives of traditional fare.

Giving Back

Tom, who attended high school in Agoura Hills, is featuring a pre-opening charity event, Hugo’s “Preview Days” with proceeds going to the Malibu Creek State Park. The three day event starts Sept 22 until the 24 with seatings each day at 8 AM – 10 AM, 12 PM – 2 PM, and 6 PM – 8 PM to cover breakfast, lunch and dinner. A generous 75 cents to each dollar, excluding tax and tip, will be donated to the cause.

Reservations mandatory with a maximum of 4 to each party. To make reservations call 818-483-0167.
