Frozen Treats and Food Stars Highlight the OC Foodie Fest 2011
Oh where, oh where, have all the food trucks gone? Straight to the OC Foodie Fest 2011 of course. Hungry patrons roamed the streets of Southern California as a fleet of food trucks parked themselves for the day at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA last Saturday. Despite the sweltering heat, foodies gathered at Angels Stadium for live music, shopping, a beer garden, car show, and of course, the many appetizing goodies served by the participating food trucks.
Hot Hot Hot
Although the weather in southern California has not been cooperating as of late, fear not, the OC Foodie Fest had a line up of frozen treat trucks including Longboard’s gourmet dipped ice cream bars and Chunk-n-Chip Cookies for the ice cream lovers, Del’s Lemonade and Maui Wowi to quench your thirst, and lastly Kona Ice Beach Cities and Mustache Mike’s Italian Ice for shaved ice to cool you to the core.

Food Network Stars
This year’s food truck lineup included a wide variety of cuisines and specialties among them were the Lime Truck and the Seabirds Truck of Food Network’s current season of “The Great Food Truck Race.” Also participating was the Poutine Truck – serving variations of fries, gravy, and fresh cheese curds and Ahn-Joo Truck – serving Korean snack foods, owned by former “The Next Food Network Star” contestant Debbie Lee.

The Other Stuff
As if the food wasn’t enough, this year’s live entertainment included music from four bands and live DJ’s rocking the festival and providing the soundtrack to their binging. Those that weren’t expecting a car show got one anyway as they found themselves checking out the many suped up rides. The OC Foodie Fest also provided a number of vendors ranging from soda samplings from Jarritos, to perusing the retail vendors hosted by Boutiquing.com, as well as a variety of farmer’s market booths from SOCO Farmers Market.
This year’s OC Foodie Fest makes us curious of your opinion. Feel free to discuss below.
