Emmy Party Drink Recipes for Sunday Night
Since you are going to be sitting on the couch watching the Emmys this year, take it up a notch! Mix up one (or all) of these specialty drinks and have your very own Emmy Party!
KOI’s Cucumber Martini
Emmy winner Justin Timberlake has been spotted at KOI restaurant in L.A. as well as “Top Chef’s” Padma Lakshmi and Derek Hough from “Dancing with the Stars.” “Top Chef” is nominated for four awards this year and “Dancing” is up for nine. KOI will be celebrating Sunday night by pouring this fresh cocktail.
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Sake
- 1 oz. Vodka
- 1/2 oz. Lime juice
- 1.2 oz. Simple syrup
- 5 slices of cucumbers
(Pictured above) Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake hard to break down the cucumbers. Strain in to chilled martini glass. Garnish with a slice of cucumber.
Bloody Maria
Vampire Bill and the bloodsuckers of Bon Temps would go crazy for the authentic Bloody Maria made with Familia Camarena Tequila to celebrate “True Blood’s” impressive seven nominations.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz. Familia Camarena Reposado Tequila
- 3 oz. Tomato juice or extra spicy bloody mary mix
- Juice from one lime
- 4 Dashes of hot sauce
- 2 Dashes of Worcestershire sauce
- Pinch of salt and pepper
Combine all in a mixing glass. Strain into a tall glass or tumbler filled with ice and garnish with lime wedge.
The True Blue Blood
Get hypnotized by a vampire’s love with this sexy cocktail!
Ingredients
- 1 part chilled Hypnotiq
- 1 part chilled champagne
- Grenadine sinker
The Emmy Rita
Everybody loves a good margarita — especially when they are low-cal! Good news, this drink is only 175 calories! The Emmy Rita, just like Rita from “Dexter,” is sweet and sexy too! Showtime’s “Dexter is up for eight awards, including Outstanding Drama Series.
Ingredients
- 1 oz. Alma De Agave Tequila Blanco
- 2 oz TY KU Liqueur
- .5 oz Orange juice
- .5 oz Lime juice
Add the tequila, Liqueur, orange juice, lime juice and a tall glass of ice to a blender. Blend for desired texture. Pour and garnish with lime.
The “Glee”tini
This drink is sweet and strong like the vocals of the New Directions on “Glee,” nominated for an amazing 19 awards including Outstanding Comedy Series.
Ingredients
- 1.5 fl oz Russian Standard vodka
- Juice from ½ of a lime
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 Mango
Blend with crushed ice and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with mango slices or a lime curl.

Modern Day Mad Men Martini
Betty Draper’s go-to sipper may be the Tom Collins in the 1960’s-based drama “Mad Men” up for Best Drama Series and a total of 17 nominations. For a 21st century twist on the Tom Collins, toast to the Drapers this Sunday night with this cocktail!
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Gabriel Boudier Saffron Infused Gin
- 1/4 oz. agave syrup
- 1/3 oz. lemon juice
- Half stick of lemon grass (muddled)
Add ingredients to a cocktail mixer with ice. Shake well and strain. Serve in a martini glass and garnish with a stick of lemon grass.
The TY KU Tuxedo
You can wear your comfy duds at home and still feel like a star while watching the big show. TY KU will turn your frumpy weekend ensemble into a tuxedo with this simple drink. So “suit up” like Neil Patrick Harris’ character on “How I Met Your Mother!” NPH is nominated for the fourth year in a row for “HIMYM” as well as his guest spot on “Glee.”
Ingredients
- 2 oz. TY KU Soju
- Splash of Club Soda
Pour Soju and soda together in a mixing glass. Pour mixture over a glass of ice. Squeeze in a lemon, lime or orange and drop it into the glass.
Blue BAM
“Survivor” contestants from the past 20 seasons of the reality show were treated to this special drink at their reunion party on Catalina Island in July. The show that is known for tribes, sunburns and alliances is nominated for three awards including Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.
Ingredients
- 3 oz. Blue Angel Vodka
- Dash of Blue Angel Curacao
In a shaker, combine vodka and curacao with several ice cubs. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with an orange or lemon twist.
