Southern California’s, The Bruery, and Deleware’s, Dogfish Head Brewery have combined their talents and created their new beer FBBB(GQS), Faster, Bigger, Better, Bolder (Gradually, Quietly, Steadily). The brew is meant to serve as “an homage to the contrasting lifestyle views of American excess set against the more humble and traditional ways of Japan.” With this intent, they’ve created a beer of excess that still holds to tradition. Now you can finally taste the beer from Sam Calagione and Patrick Rue.

The Brew and The Bash

The Japanese influence in FBBB(GQS) is seen in the ingredients, which include nori, chili peppers, sesame seeds, kumquats and the Bruery’s own seven spice schichimi togarashi blend along with sake yeast. There will be a kick off celebration hosted at Far Bar in Little Tokyo, L.A. for the world release party on October 11 starting at 6 PM. The brewers will also be present to answer any questions about the limited edition brew. The event has a charity element with $1 from each bottle sale will go towards rebuilding Japanese breweries and households that were destroyed during the recent earthquake.

The two breweries will also be bringing some of their special brews as a prelude to LA Beer Week. Dogfish Head will tap Miles Davis’ Bitch’s Brew 2010 and 120 Minute IPA. Bruery will be bringing a collection including Oude Tart, Rub-a Dub Dubbel, Autumn Maple, Humulus Lager, Mischief and Loakal Red.
