Desserts to Die For at the Valley Greek Festival
Jun 1st

Nothing beats the midday heat like a Greek beer and deep-fried sweet treats! It was incredibly hot this weekend but that didn’t stop the 36th Annual Valley Greek Festival from drawing large, hungry crowds at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Northridge, CA. More >
Fresh Fries Food Truck: Baby Got Sauce
May 18th

A scoop of peanut butter, and Nutella sits on top of crispy sweet potato fries sprinkled with powdered sugar – that is what we’re looking at here. I never knew fries could be a dessert. A Frankenstein creation called “Peanut Buttercup,” created by Roxy and Nikole of the Fresh Fries food truck. I salivate just thinking about it! More >
Chef Brian of Private Chefs of Beverly Hills is The Kanye of Culinary Arts
May 17th

Chef Brian’s Comfort Truck has been on the road in Los Angeles for two months, only a tiny fraction compare to his 20 years of culinary experience. We sat in with Chef Brian and Nikki, the two-man/woman team, while they quickly and gracefully served comfort to folks on Melrose. “It’s like hanging out, we just have fun in here.”

Firefly Bistro in Pasadena, Sunday Blues Brunch, You Had Me at Hello
May 4th

I am not good with showing my emotions, especially passion. Maybe I wasn’t hugged enough as a child, maybe too many of my goldfish died, or maybe I am afraid to wake up one day and lose it all. Maybe I am being dramatic but thankfully there are people like Paul Rosenbluh and Carl Weintraub who don’t mind sharing their passion. We spent a short Sunday morning with them at their restaurant, Firefly Bistro in Pasadena, California. Thanks to their passion, the trinity of food, music and booze can come together and create Fooboosic. Yes, I coined a term. Come on Merriam-Webster! More >
I Like My Wieners Greasy
May 3rd

This is the first time I have worn my “Love Your Wiener” t-shirt and received a legitimate compliment. It was from some guys that truly do love their wieners. Brothers Josh and Adam Dragotta love wieners so much they’ve created a food truck called The Greasy Wiener, which brings authentic Jersey-Style wieners to the mouths of Los Angelenos. More >
Chaya Venice’s 20th Anniversary Party Brings All The Boys and Girls To The Yard
Apr 26th

If you didn’t have fun at the Chaya Venice all you can eat and drink extravaganza, you’ll need to check on your fun-meter. If there were a mathematical formula for throwing good parties it would be:

It’s definitely not the Pythagorean theorem but that’s all I could come up with. Evidently, I didn’t go beyond grade school geometry.
It Wasn’t Even Happy Hour and People Were Happy
One of my priorities in life is to be happy and if happiness comes from a cuisine that blends European and Asian flavors from acclaimed Executive Chef Shigefumi Tachibe, then so be it. Did I also mention happiness comes from the Lobster Saffron Ravioli or a colossal tray of oysters and shrimp with cocktail sauce and lemons.

Expectations In Relationships
The Munchie Machine food truck rolled out today in front of Bigfoot Lodge West. We did not know what to imagine, we never do. It’s similar to the beginning of a relationship. I try not to expect anything or I’ll end up having my heart shattered into pieces. Which means I’ll probably be crying in the shower with all my clothes on. Little did we know that’s not what happened, it was quite the contrary. More >

Duck in a Taco, and It’s Not Cute at All
At the age of 7 I had a pet duck. His name was Duck. Duck is the only word that describes both an animal and an action because clearly you can’t elephant under someone. Eating duck should be difficult for me, but it’s not since all my sympathy has crumbled into tiny tasty scrumptious duck tacos with respectable sauces. Look for the wasabi guacamole and ginger pico de gallo. I want it on everything. More >
