The First Annual Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival kicked off with a bang on Wednesday, October 12 and continued until October 16 all over Los Angeles. The Lexus Grand Tasting Event at L.A. Live, spanning 2 days, was no exception to the excitement. Star studded with celebrity chefs, over 300 wines, and the Lexus Tasting Lab, patrons of the event found themselves at the height of decadence and luxury with an all you can drink and eat feast from some of the nations top chefs and wineries. We wrote about the epic 12 course beer and food pairing that was held at Boneyard Bistro about a couple weeks ago and were on scene for the event. Chef/owner of Boneyard Bistro, Aaron Robins, and brewer/owner Patrick Rue of The Bruery put on a dinner whose focus was on beer. No special theme was featured, instead, Chef Aaron directed his creativity towards the flavor profiles in pairing Patrick’s beers, creating a marathon whose emphasis was on good eats. The 3rd Annual Beer Float Showdown, presented by FoodGPS.com, where five chefs are paired with five California breweries to create an original beer float wrapped up today. The judges were prominent beer and ice cream aficionados; the attendees. Hugo’s, a local fixture that has catered to the likes of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas for the past 30 years, is well known for their breakfasts.
